Life Insurance Premiums Dropped, Because of Many Cases?

Life insurance premiums in Indonesia have decreased significantly in recent years. This is due to the large number of insurance claim cases that have occurred in Indonesia, for which life insurance companies have to pay large compensation to customers.

Cases of insurance claims that occur in Indonesia are very diverse, ranging from deaths due to traffic accidents, critical illness, to the COVID-19 pandemic. In several cases, life insurance companies in Indonesia have had to pay insurance claims of up to hundreds of billions of rupiah, resulting in a decline in the company's financial performance.

In addition, the low level of awareness among the Indonesian people about the importance of having life insurance is also a contributing factor to the decline in life insurance premiums. Many people still think of life insurance as something that is not important, so they don't buy life insurance products or only buy it with a low premium value.

However, even though life insurance premiums in Indonesia have decreased, this does not mean that life insurance is no longer important. Conversely, having permanent life insurance is very important to protect yourself and your family from unexpected financial risks, such as critical illness or death.

Therefore, life insurance companies in Indonesia must continue to innovate in facing this challenge. They must offer life insurance products that are more relevant and affordable to the public, as well as increase the level of public awareness about the importance of having life insurance.

In this case, the government can also help by providing incentives to life insurance companies that offer more affordable life insurance products and help raise public awareness about the importance of having life insurance.

In conclusion, even though life insurance premiums in Indonesia have decreased due to the large number of insurance claim cases, having life insurance is still important to protect yourself and your family from unexpected financial risks. Life insurance companies in Indonesia need to innovate to offer life insurance products that are more relevant and affordable to the public, as well as increase public awareness about the importance of having life insurance.
